Idiot of the Week – Samuel Zuze strikes Again!

Back in February Magistrate Samuel Zuze was featured in “Idiot of the Week” ….For some strange reason I knew this man would be back. You have to be a serious idiot to be featured here twice, thats Zuze for you the man is a sandwich short of a picnic. Last week Magistrate Zuze jailed Gift Mafuka for a year with hard labour for contravening Section 33 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act. One would think if you break the law you have to do the time, thats all good until you find out the crime Gift was convicted for.

Gift Mafuka called Robert Mugabe wrinkly and old…Yes thats his only crime and Zuze thought a year in the slammer would do him good. I ask is Mugabe old …yes, is Mugabe wrinkly ….yes, is mugabe a dictator…yes (not that Mafuka mentioned this or he might be serving a life sentence). So why waste time on such cases when the Magistrate could be allocating all resources to the people being beaten up and terrorised in the name of Zimbabwe constitution exercise. Whoever gave this man a license to be part of the judiciary process must be kicking themselves. The Prime Minister has been called worse names by the oppostion and has never recieved an apology.

It gets better two months of Mafuka’s sentence were suspended on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years, by that time Mugabe would older, 91 years with even more wrinkles hopefully not  President of Zimbabwe. What kind of justice is this, there are known perpertrators of violence who have never spent a night in custody for their crimes and Gift Mafuka spends a year in prison for the truth. Even a caution would have been ridiculous.
