The amount of foreign aid that has been poured into Zimbabwe over the years is astronomical, not only into Zimbabwe but most African countries. The big question here is how these funds are allocated, surely by now the aid that has gone in to Africa should have made a difference.

If Mugabe left his job tomorrow Zimbabwe would not be able to handle the aid pouring into the country. I do not blame foreign leaders who are holding back on aid, this is nothing to do with the people of Zimbabwe (who so desperatley need it),it has a lot to do with the current leadership. For Mugabe this is the last run and millions of dollars pouring into the country will just make it worth while to hang around for a some change.

Today I woke up to wonderful news “Barack Obama has won the elections”, he is going to be the next 44th President of United States of America. 2 years ago they laughed at him and said this will never happen, they say it could not be done in America, even one of the funniest comedians we have got to know Chris Rock is having his words for breakfast today, they said we have been here before with Jesse Jackson and we did not get far. In Arnold Schwarzenegger’s words the “Real Life Action Heroe” John McCain has met his match. America has come to realise that putting an old man in the White House was not a good idea something they have learnt from a certain Southern African country- If you are past retirement age give others a chance do not hold onto Power. The reason why McCain lost this election was not because America wanted a Black President it was because McCain was not hungery enough, he sounded desperate from the start, and he was banking on the old America to carry him through to the White House and not forgetting old George Bush (don’t have to say to much here), and the main reason why he lost was because Barack Obama was way ahead of McCain, the right candidate got the job.

His rivals called him a Socialist, a Maxist, a Muslim Terrorist and a Sympathiser but Americans saw through all that  all the name calling could not stop this man and Americans have shown me a different side to them, they just dont believe eveything thrown at them. Former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani jumped on the bandwagon calling Barack Obama a Community Organiser and how Community Organiser could never become President. America is ready for change and they have chosen Barack to deliver it, not even Rogue Sarah Palin could inject that needed fire into McCain’s Campaign or Joe the Plumber.

Mr Obama is here to shape the future, democracy has prevailed and I just hope the American fever for change spreads through the world. In todays world we should not stand for leaders who are power hungry and are all for themselves. The time for change is here.
