The Circus is in Town Folks – Is he Mugabe’s puppet or is he serious, is he another Tekere should we vote for him or should we vote Mugabe again and suffer in silence. The Zim papers across the Globe have been buzzing with this, all of them have Bob vs Simba on the cover. Let me tell you something this is far from another of Bob’s tricks – What proof do I have you ask and I tell you Non, its evident this is not Bob’s doing. Flip it and think for a moment lets just say it is Bob’s work and Makoni is really working for him – I think the morning after the elections he will be kicking himself and those advisors of his (trust me its not). Soon as Makoni came out you could see Zanu crumbling especially the leadership they are pointing fingers at each other right now who is loyal who isnt, the divisions are there and who is in the forefront of brwing trouble to show their alligiance to the party … wait for it wait for it …..Yes you guessed it WAR VETERANS. Currently Dumiso Dabengwa, Joseph Msika and John Nkomo are not popular with their peers with some even asking for their expellsion from the party why because they want better for themselves and the country- Change.

We have been there done that with Tekere that timewaster, this time its the real deal lets not waste time and rally behind new blood we owe it to ourselves and future generations, zvakwana tanheta. Simba Makoni has had the balls to stand against Mugabe something very few have done in the past for well known reasons and this man is risking a lot to see the country that he loves come out of the mess its currently in. Zimbabweans all over the world have been calling for change and the minute someone comes out and says I’m willing to take on Mugabe we start asking ourselves what are his motives, who is working with come on people this chance is not going to present its self again. Since the ZAPU days (Yes I said it ZAPU PF) opposition in Zimbabwe has never been this convinicing. I’m riding the wave if you want change you know what to do, Simba is not tsotsi or anyones puppet and we all know that. He is not being pushed by some group with economical interests in the country or by the colonialists. Listen to ZANU and thats all you hear he is that he is this he was sent, he is being supported by so and so, quite the lame shots and get your campaign going because this time Mugabe ari kuzorora, get that retirement home ready.

For weeks now there has been talk about Simba Makoni standing to oppose the old boy for Presidency, is he in? is out? is he scared? what ever happened to showing support and encourage, to me and many other Zimbabweans this is good news, you just have to look at this man’s CV to make the decision youself. There is no need to be bribed with bags of maize or mbewu or even to be beaten up or torchered to support him, his credentials speak for themselves, the economy did well when this man was Minister of Finance and what did Bob decide to do, remove him from the post. He is the ideal young morden leader our country can do with, fresh ideas, new policies, strategies etc, he does need hearing aids or zimmer frames to do his job. Simba Makoni has not come come out and said he wants to be President and at the same time has not said he does not want to be but we all know right now he is our best bet to get us out of this mess. Simba do it for the nation.

Some Zanu PF heads do not fully endorse Makoni or support his ways because they know he is not under the Mugabe spell everything he has, he has worked for it was not handed to him, they are only there to protect their wealth. Mugabe has known for a long time since the 80′s that if someone who the people would love and get on with it would be Simba Makoni not some of these Mickey Mouse characters. When Mugabe wants matters dealt with that involves brains who does he turn to -Dr Simba Makoni he has put in him in various positions only to fire him wants the job is done. From Zimpapers to Finance, even his stint at SADC did Zimbambwe a lot of good. Mugabe has refused Simba Makoni’s resignation because he knows what will happen once that man is independant of him, he is ware of what damage this man cause a break away party led by Makoni is Bob’s worst nightmare. I just hope the BBC Reports have not rumbled Makoni’s plans as he has humbled himself for far too long and we all know what that can happen if you decide to poop where you eat. Some papers this week have reported on how Dr. Simba Makoni is a coward or on how he does not want his plans known, he is a strategist give him time. It is easy, we need change and those living in Zimbabwe are appalled by the state of the Politics and the Economy and this affects them every day and those leaving outside Zimbabwe cannot wait till the situatuion gets better and head back home but this is not going to happen while the fat cats milk the country dry blaming sanctions and pointing fingers at the west, Blair or Bush are not the ones who handed productive farms to Scud guzzlers (dont get me started on this I have already covered it)

Last night I sat down to watch the long awaited interview by James Makawa, with H. E. The President Robert Gabriel Mugabe of Zimbabwe. With all that’s going on in Zimbabwe and the President not being open about a lot of issues regarding transparency of his domestic policy one thought that this was the one to watch. James Makawa a renowned journalist and broadcaster one of the best in his field I had put my money on to drill the old man, put him on a spot light and tell the world what he is up to failed, instead it turned out to be a history lesson. Why James? Why?

We went to school and learnt all that ZANU, ZAPU, Pre-1980 stuff don’t get me wrong I respect all that happened then it all set us for freedom but we have to move on from that, we can’t keep looking back, our parents, grandparents etc told us stories, if you are not familiar log on to the internet, buy a book or ask someone. We wanted James to pick his brain, go deep, ask him something that the people want to know, last time I checked that what interviews were all about (maybe because of the history he did not want to upset the old boy). The only thing we learnt from that interview as long as it was which turned out to be news was Robert Mugabe telling us that Zimbabwe was actually doing better in Agriculture than ever before, then if that’s the case Bob why are people starving and running to neighboring states, why all the chaos regarding food. We are not fools.

This is what Mugabe does and is very good at and James if you were not part of the plan you fell for it, not many journalists do. Now and again he reminds the people of Zimbabwe what part he played in the struggle for Independence so we can think that what is going on now we can live with since he did so much, how he came to notice the injustice, went to University became a teacher, them studied law, then came the training then came Chimurenga, then came Lancaster House, then came forgiveness of Ian Smith and his people, then ZANU vs ZAPU, the reconciliation, the Blair years them the Farms. We will never forget trust me its imprinted let’s look to the future. James you were meant to take control of the interview and not give Mugabe another chance for self promotion, you did not touch current affairs and as for the future of Zimbabwe we walked away with Mugabe will be replaced by a mini-Mugabe (There are 3 candidates don’t get your hopes high and don’t expect new policies i.e. don’t expect change, it will still be Zanu)
