The Economic situation in Zimbabwe has finally brought the the Education Engine to a halt, kids are not attending school as the authorites keep moving the opening dates. Schools have been on break since begining of December and may open as far into the year as March 2008 saw more distrptions than any other year with “elections”, teachers strikes, availability of resources, the cholera outbreak and various other unheard of excuses and unprecedented challenges.

Any Zimbabwean who was educated in the system prior to Mugabe’s madness would tell you how they were proud of the Education they recieved. Now its a shame the schools are there but not much is going on. We always say our children are our future but in this case they are not priority. This is the time when the Government should make sure that amidst all the madness at least the schools are open and the kids are looked after. This is the birth of the Lost Generation, this government will stop at nothing till the country is buried. The Main reason why the schools stay shut is funding from the government, nothing new in Zimbabwe funds have been diverted and this was not for a good reason. Grade 7 results are still not out as the markers have not been paid, the excuses go on and on.

Private schools were immune to some of the outrageous excuse from the Mugabe’s Government as they managed to stay operational but this January Mugabe has decide to send in the Army and make sure they stay shut untill he gives the word. Yes people the Army, just a few months ago they were at the recieving end now thay are making sure kids don’t make it to school anyone seen to give the go ahead on opening schoo;s risks jail time or the norm a good beeating. Private schools have been a sore subject in Zimbabwe over the years, most if not all are self funded and there should be no reason why they should remain shut if the problem is cash flow to the Government funded schools. I guess this is a way of getting back to them and reminding then that this is Zimbabwe and you cannot show too much independence or self governance.

Just when you think it cant get any worse than this Bob pulls one from under you, who would have thought the leader of a country would allow such to go on in their own country.

We all know this is part of Robert Mugabe Grand destructive plan, they misappropriate funds dont open schools distrupt the Academic year, dont pay the teachers, shut down some schools, semd in the armyto intinidate those that are able to operate that way no one goes to school and no one gets a proper education and no new people with bright ideas to take over from him. What is going to become kids of this generation without a proper education, struggling economy and no faith in the in the system.

I am surprised Robert Mugabe did not turn up in a superman suit because that is exactly who he thinks he is Mr Untouchable, he could have had anyone of his hangers on attend the meeting, if the meeting was held in Africa I can bet you anything he would not have turned up but because its in Rome he shows up just to rub it in their faces. This man is obsessed with showing off how much power he has at all costs; don’t mind what is going on Zimbabwe or his people being butchered in neighbouring South Africa he is off on a jolly. The International community entertains this man while his paopel suffer, people are suffering of hunger and human rights abuse and you let this man break bread with you.

Below his reaction……

Minister of Food: Boss we have been invited to the United Nations Summit.

Robert Mugabe: Tell them I am busy thanks to Tsvangirai’s nonsense we have to prepare for elections again and you know what I mean by “prepare”, hey has my package arrived from China yet?

Minister of Food: I am not too sure Boss I will ask the Minister of Weapons or bet yet the War Vets will have a low down on that, they have been itchin. So what exactly do you want me to tell the UN.

Robert Mugabe: You and a bunch of friends can go, What is the Summit all about anyway? Is it here in Africa?

Minister of Food: It’s about Food Sir and it is being held in Rome, Italy.

Robert Mugabe: Ahhh Rome !!! Europe!!! Is Gordon Brown or any of the Royal Family going to be there? And Food ? Why Food – the people of Zimbabwe have got ample Food supplies this is a waste of time for us everyone is happy from Chirundu through to Limpopo

Minister of Food: I am not sure Sir but the British Government will send a representative, Douglas Alexander who will not be shaking your hand if you attend just incase you try that trick again ha ha ha ha that was a good one Boss.

Robert Mugabe: “hahahaha, In that case Quick fill up the little birdy we are going to Europe boys, tell Grace to get ready for the shopping trip of her life. Book me in at my usual hotel Ambasciatore I love it there. Oh I love this, another chance to show my pompus self, swear and blame the West for the suffering of my own people oooooh Christmas in June I love this.”

Minister oF Food: Sir what about the BAN on Europe?

Robert Mugabe: Don’t be silly do you know who I am, I am Robert “Superman “Gabriel Mugabe. All I need is more Security staff just in case Peter Tatchell decides to arrest me again the nerve of that man.

Minister oF Food: For some unknown reason this time round they might be more people trying to arrest you with the elections having gone as planned.

Robert Mugabe: You are still here I thought I said go and pack for our vacation ummmm Europe here I come.
